Learning is a complicated process that involves many aspects. Some of what we learn is specific to certain fields of study, while others things that we learn are more universal in nature, and we learn from everyone around us. Some people believe that parents have the best capabilities to teach their children, while others contend that parents have limitations when it comes to teaching, and that children should learn from others as well. In the final analysis, it is my view that although children can learn from people other than their parents, parents are indeed the best teachers for children.
Strongest argument supporting your opinion + example/s
Naturally, most parents are the closest people to their children. Parents know their children from the moment the children are born, and the parents guide their children throughout their young lives. Also, parents have a direct interest in seeing their offspring succeed in life, and thus most parents go out of their way to help their children learn and educate themselves. On the other hand, teachers can also teach important things, but as they do not know the children as closely as the children parents do, most teachers cannot teach a child all things that parents can.
A good counterargument + your response to it
Nonetheless, most parents are not professional teachers. Hence, a single parent cannot have the full knowledge of math, science, English, literature and so on. This is one of the reasons that children attend school. However, while it is true that children should not ideally learn everything from their parents, it is also true that the information that children get at school is available elsewhere - in books and online. On the other hand, what parents teach their children - how to behave, how to take care of themselves, how to negotiate - is precious knowledge that only experience and love can yield.

Children learn many things until they become adults. They learn those things from different agents: their parents, their other relatives, their friends, and their teachers. Each of the people close to a child can teach him or her invaluable information. However, there are some things that only parents can teach. Thus, parents are really the best teachers a child can have.
